What is the recharge mechanism for type IIb muscle fiber that allows wild animals to maintain > 70% of total muscle mass, when these fibers are known to rapidly fatigue?

Muscle fiber formation is driven by transcription factors and can be influenced by administration of transcriptional co-activators in already established muscle fibers. Does this portend a very obvious pathway for activity-based adaptive effects that can alter the expression of a specific muscle fiber? Though the answer may be obvious, I don’t want to assert anything of which I can’t be sure this early in my initial investigations. Cracking open the journals now so that I can have a thorough discussion on this topic in pages and posts to come!
